[Game Claim] AU Game - 10/8-11

Hey, folks! The Teller of Tales will be running an AU game from Thursday October 8 to Sunday October 11, 3 pm PST.

Your AU for this run will be ~classic gothic monsters~.

That means that for the length of this game, you won't be playing your character. You'll be playing an AU version of your character, circa 1900, with floofy clothes and mysterious eyes and all the makings of a classic monster movie protag, antag, or side character.

Want to play a vampire? Sure. Want to be a mad scientist's monster? Go for it. The mad scientist? Absolutely. The alien that came back to 1897 to kidnap a Cthulhu worshiper? Yep. Pitchfork mob member? Live your dreams.

You can go as detailed as you want or just wing it. If you'd like to coordinate with other players for this game and create an elaborate AU backstory for your characters, go ahead and use this post for planning. If you'd prefer to appear mysteriously from the depths at game start, feel free.

Scoring for this game will be based on the number of tropes completed throughout the play period. Some sample tropes include:

• Dramatic entrances (flourishing capes, dramatic lighting/shadow, strikes of lightning whenever one enters a room, etc.)


• Stricken by monster weakness (a vampire assaulted by garlic, a werewolf by silver, etc.)


• Regency AU


• Evil twins


• ???
