Prompt 1: Amnesia

[ You woke up, all your memories having vacated you. Well, that sucks. But hey, no time like the present to go out and figure out things. Maybe someone in your smartphone contacts knows you or what's going on. You open up your smartphone's lock screen and-- hey, that looks relevant. Profile pages! It has your unit name, member names, but no pictures. . .

Well, the rest varies. This one says Likes: Industrial Strength cleaning products, Breakbeat hardcore, Volleyball shorts and Dislikes: Roombas, Electro-industrial, Maid Outfits. The next has a thrilling tale that concludes with the idol mud-wrestling God, though it doesn't mention if they won or not. The third says that the member became an idol because they want to use the television and media attention to get the notice of their long lost sister, and reunite their family. The fourth just has someone's three sizes. The fifth has a detailed astrological profile.

Since no one remembers their names and there's no pictures to match it to, this is actually less helpful than you hoped. And furthermore, the doors aren't opening until you and the rest of the amnesiacs on this unit tell it who is who. Looks like you and the rest of these people have to discuss which of you is more likely to have mud-wrestled god, and who joined because they really want to find their long-lost sister. Or you can just use the tape-measure that was left sitting on the main table of the center room, that might be a quick way to settle at least one of these things. ]

Prompt 2: Memory Regain

[ You saved up your points, performing in Games or Lives or Vids, something or other until you had enough points to put the order in.

You didn't really know how to expect a memory to look like, but as it turns out there's just an alert on your app. Once you click it, a playback starts-- on the screen, and in your mind. You remember something now.

However, in buying the cheap version, that just broadcasted to several other people's phones in the area as well as all screens in the area. Cool. That was definitely what you were trying to do. ]

Prompt 3: Game Time

[ Welcome to the Game Tower. Today's game is a sort of mad fake phantom thief free-for-all. You arrived, were given top hats and cloaks, and the inside floor of the tower had been remodeled to resemble an art museum, with a giant roulette wheel right by the elevator you exited. Below that was a little slot, where today's hologram host explained the wheel would spit out a slip with a goal just for you.

So you have a little slip of paper with a goal on it, and no way of knowing what anyone else's goals are, though you did see the big roulette wheel being spun at the beginning letting you know the some of the possibilities:

Prompts 4: Fanmail

[ Today, trying to take the elevators up from the lobby to access the apartments you and the other units live in just isn't working. Upon the doors being pried open, you found out why quickly: the elevator shaft was jammed up with fan mail, so it couldn't properly descend. Letters cascades out from between the open doors: letters from people who watch you play games, do lives, make vids, and probably all sorts of other things on those omnipresent cameras.

Are you really going to read these? Though right at your feet, a few have spilled from their envelopes. Now you can't help but read those. Here's one in purple glitter pen that says, jesus just come into my home and strangle me with your hair and one that is written with newspaper cut out letters (alarmingly reminiscent of a calling card written by a serial killer) that reads incongruently hello my soft best child ur good and valid and I love you forever plz be ok don't listen 2 the haterz u have done nothing wrong. Oh, and here's one asking if you can wear tighter pants for your next live, they want a better shot of your ass for their shrine. This one just says MARRIED?

Well, it's just as well you have no idea who those were for. Most this fanmail isn't for you. Except for the few that you just read, they're all labeled in envelopes for different people from all the units. Time to read other people's fanmail. Or try and find them and deliver the fanmail. Or just start a big fire in the middle of the lobby, you could do that too. ]

[ 'Hime'...then? Sitting in the cafe, with three large cakes in front of her, she frowns, scrolling through her phone. She put all the information in while inside her dorm in order to leave, but isn't that kind of a vain name!? She'll have to think hard on if she should choose a different one to go by. At least until she remembers her true identity. ]

Haaaah...[Mumbling away to herself.] Well if I'm already in hell, a little gluttony never hurt anyone, right?

[Kind of a weird hell in general.]

Game Time:

[Alright...! She has her mission. Now she only has to lock and load on a target. And there--! Right up ahead. She lifts up a hand and waves.]

Hey! Did you manage to steal something yet?

[Everyone's stuck here trying to do something, so it isn't really like they have to hide, right?]

[She just. Stares at one of her letters. 'Strangle me with your hair', it says.]

Er... I'm a little concerned about the mental well-being of whoever wrote this. What kind of a weird fetish is that??

[ Evidently the same issue here as above-- she skims the letters with a confused, narrowed gaze, before tossing them aside entirely for a picture of her putting someone (maybe YOU? YES, YOU) in a headlock. ]

before he just gets up, putting his phone down and going over to grab the tape measure. ]

Alright, so these p ... profiles are completely horseshit. This is how we're doing it.

[ he's trying to be sneaky about this, whatever it is he has to steal. but probably the way he's passing glances at people, looking them over as if checking them out for easily-snatchable possesions might be spotted by the keen eye. if anyone approaches him he'll flip on the charm immediately. ]

[We'll go with saying she's from AlcheME! She's dressed as a fancy sorceress. But her two most obvious items for stealing would be the pendant she wears as part of her unit and a small satchel at her side.]

[She has a spiked choker around her neck and some bracelets on her left arm...and an armored gauntlet on her right arm. Maybe he could try to take one of those, but she is kind of raising an eyebrow.]

[ There's an unhealthily pale young woman with some nasty-looking facial scars leaning against the wall. She checks her phone, then tosses it onto a couch in disgust.
All of this would probably look more intimidating if her provided pajamas didn't include a hoodie with pointy animal ears. ]

This is fucking bullshit. All of it. And like hell am I playing along.

Yeah, okay. [ she's got her thumb hovering over a button on her phone ] Hit me.

[ The memory that plays shows... is that her? The build is the same, but her hair is black (dyed?) and cut in a severe bob. Those facial scars are pretty unmistakable, though.

It's night, and she's moving through an alley; the sound of a crowded bar trails through the air. There's the creak of a side door, and footsteps, then a pale young man appears. He pauses, turns to give a last kiss to someone inside, laughs at a joke, then steps the rest of the way into the alley. He looks happy.

Just like that, faster than should be humanly possible, she's on him, stake in hand driving through his chest. He has just enough time to look surprised, then his body collapses stiffly, already starting to wither like an aged corpse.

She gives it a disgusted kick. "Fucking leech." ]

[ Hey, it's one of the newbies in the kitchen, standing in front of an open fridge in the middle of the night. Seems reasonable.

She's weighing a ration in her hands with unhappy expression on her face: it's a sealed plastic bag of dark red liquid. ]

[Someone else seems to be a night owl. She came down to the kitchen to raid the fridge too, but it's hard not to notice the obvious dislike emanating off the other girl.]

The cafe has free food. Sometimes I get as much as I can there in order to bring it home.

[It's cheating but this place is cheating them so whatever she can eat treats whenever she wants to.]

[ This person actually spent more time poking at their phone, like an elder trying to figure out this newfangled machine, testing out different apps and such before finally landing on the profile page.

Contrary to the situation everyone is in, at least they find the profiles amusing...? ]

[ They're not gonna say no to a nice hat and a free cloak, man. Especially! When they're given a ~fun~ role to play! ]

Hey, you. Yes, you! [ Did they in fact just point at some rando present at the game and that happened to be you? ...Yeah they absolutely just did. ] A moment of your time?

Prompt 5: Post-Game Hilarity

[ This game was NINJA WARRIORS, which really means that there were a lot of hilarious failed attempts at completing an obstacle course, most of which ended with people falling into water or battered by rotating safety barriers.

This guy may have lost the game, but it doesn't seem like he cares much. How can he with the special show being featured in the endgame? The game's host has arranged for instant replays of all the most hilarious losses—for example, a clip of Talon dangling upside down from one of the safety nets, face twisted in with some embarrassed cursing while he tries to free himself. ]

He's like an angry little gremlin, isn't he?

[ Maybe you just woke up. Maybe you're getting back from a game three quarter's dead. Either way, there's a new team member in your dorm! Her hair is in perfect cascading waves. Her teeth are pearly white. She's seated at a table where her perfectly manicured hands are in the process of sewing up a recently split seem in one of your favorite tops.

And regardless of who you are, what you look like, or how many of your bones are currently exposed, she greets you with a warm, bright smile. ]

2: Memory

[ The woman is her memory looks like the perfect model of a Stepford Wife. She is gathering seven children-- seemingly unrelated but all in matching pajama-- into the study of an old man who is studiously writing in his journal. ]

Dr. Hargreeves? [ she interrupts, smiling brightly ] The children wanted to say good night.

[ the man continues to write in his notebook without even looking up or acknowledging that she spoke. after a long, long, uncomfortable pause, she turns back to the kids ]

OK! Time for bed children!

[ Her smile has not once faltered, or even changed much at all.

The version that's watching the memory has the exact same expression on her face and she doesn't say anything. ]

4. Fanmail

[ Of course, she gets the same mix of admiration, nasty objectification and outright vitriol as anyone else. She reads through them all with a warm, bright smile. ]

Well, isn't that nice! Oh, but now I have so many thank you notes to write.

[Steal someone's shoes. hm! now that's an interesting one. she's not entirely sure how she's gonna pluck the shoes off of someone without them noticing — she's pretty sure asking doesn't qualify as stealing, but maybe she can try to stretch that definition a little. she's gonna have to get sneaky, so she looks for a suitable target, sliding over looking as casual as possible]

she scoops up some of the papers, squinting at the writing on the envelopes. a problem arises: she definitely doesn't know anyone around here well enough to identify who is who. oops. she surveys the room to look for someone approachable (or seemingly so), before walking over with a slight wave, holding up an envelope]
