Game Claim: Boobytrapped!

Good evening Imeeji! Gil here to announce that I'm claiming Monday, June 29th for a round-based, trauma-free game!

What time you ask? Good question! I'm going to post a poll in Discord to decide the best time to run; most likely it will be an evening game.

MORE GAME DEETS:
  1. Boobytrapped is essentially a cross between Mine-sweeper and Battleship. Each unit is blind-matched against one other (IE: ZRAEL vs Pep!Pep!); the goal is to find as many treasure spots and avoid as many booby traps planted on the other unit's grid as possible. Rooms will be closed; additionally I'm asking that players with multiple characters please only pick one character per session for my sanity.
  2. All powers are off. Weapons or other items that might cause harm from outside the game are not allowed. If your character attempts to or is in the process of seriously harm(ing) another during the course of the game, please notify the game runner immediately.
  3. Each unit will have a spreadsheet with two 7x7 grids on them. (ICly, these would like maps of a series of islands with a grid overlaid on them.) One grid is for placements (and MUST be filled out prior to game start); the second one is provided for those units that prefer to visually track their guesses as they play (but is not mandatory).
  4. Each unit has twenty treasure chests and fifteen boobytraps they can hide in any of the squares on their board; they should mark their Placement board accordingly with a T for Treasure & B for Boobytrap respectively.
  5. The game will have a pre-game-start period, 1 hour or less based on player needs, during which players can finish OOCly filling out their boards. You may wish to ICly thread out decisions/reacting to the game set-up in your private unit rooms during this time.
  6. The game will have 4 rounds, 30-45 minutes each, and characters ICly know that no trauma will befall them. Each round, units can pick up to six squares by number and letter to check for / steal treasure from their opponents.
  7. When a unit hits a treasure square they gain a point.
  8. When a unit hits a boobytrap square, while they do not lose any points they will be subjected to a random boobytrap. These will be NON-TRAUMATIC, fluffy "punishments" that at worst should offer minor inconvenience if not amusement. As many or as few people on the unit can take the "punishment" so long as at least one person does.
  9. Winners are those units that:
    • Win their match-ups; that is, whoever finds the most treasure chests from any match up on either day

For now, please just feel free to ask me any questions you'd like and don't forget to respond to the discord poll once it goes up; I'll post official sign ups no later than next Sunday. At the moment I'm not revealing "punishments" atm just to keep it a surprise (but I'll give you a hint that the game is themed around pirates and such so let your imagination go wild) but if you have any specific concerns about things that might be accidentally traumatizing I will definitely be willing to answer that.
