Heart Games: to put it briefly, it's entering the psyche of a character and exploring their mind (or, namely, their heart), with the goal of reaching their core, or the True Heart. Heart Games may range from light to dark and traumatic, so please take note of content warnings given when signing up!

This time, we're introducing a new kind of Heart:

Purification: Remove the Foreign Influence

• Also known in teamnesia as corruption hearts. A foreign substance has taken hold of a character's heart, and will start to slowly change the character from the inside out if allowed to stay. In order for the process to complete, the character will be forced into a deep slumber; it is at this time that other player characters can enter the character's heart and take the influence out before it can ruin everything forever.

Heart Games will run from January 22nd to January 30th.

If you have not already added the Heart Game runner role to yourself on Discord, please go to #role-assignments and submit .iam heartgamerunners so that you can see the runner instructions.

You may both run a Heart and play in a Heart. There will be no scored runs, as there will be no points or scoring associated with this round of Heart Games.

I'm starting classes that week and I won't be doing Tuesday for sure, but uhh idk let me know if there's any days or times of day that tend to be best for you?

I'm thinking maybe a Saturday/Sunday afternoon, Monday like 11am PST? (with Deli in mind, I think I remember that being generally good?), Thursday evening, maybe also another evening somewhere? Those are just some suggestions though.

Warnings
You probably know what to expect. There is a lot of potential to die (but with full revivals, it won't stop your run at all), gore and gross landscapes (I'm not using any of the trypophobia because I love you all, also images for flesh caves are like 2001 ps2 screenshots), trauma, torture, you know, the usual Vergil memory stuff. Also beware of poetry.

This is a Purification Heart!

I expect this Heart to contain fantasy combat and violence, and probably at least some measure of psychological bullshit, but no major content warnings and nothing that wouldn't be at the light to medium end of Imeeji-typical. Characters will be able to die.

I hope to run two or three sessions depending on availability and interest. When signing up, please fill in all the dates and times that work for you! If you want to play and absolutely none of the proposed dates and times are any good for you, however, please let me know in the comments so that we can try and work things out. Unfortunately, as I live in Europe I will probably not be able to run any slots that start later than the ones on this sheet, but if there's enough demand I'll see what I can manage.

Capacity: I'm aiming for two or three runs of this, with no more than 6 characters per run, but since all Hearts are unscored this time around, I'm flexible on this front as long as all players involved are comfortable with the potential to go over time.

Content Warnings: Heavy CW for unreality; this is element is unavoidable. Your character will die in this Heart, but it's fine! Don't worry about it.

Likewise, the goal is to keep it to five people in a session but if we end up with one or two extra in a time slot that won't be able to fit elsewhere, I can probably work with that. So don't be afraid to let me know for what would work best for you. I can and will run independant things for people if they're interested.

Note that her heart will contain spoilers for Trails of Cold Steel, possibly including the fourth game. The latter will primarily relate strongly to Towa Herschel, rather than the main story itself, but fair warnings are fair.

You do not have to have pre-existing or strong CR with Serenity to run, if you want to.

Content Warnings may include suicidal ideation and are extremely likely to include plant-based body horror as well as death/violence/gore. Please keep these in mind when signing up!

This will be a Purification Heart

Currently, I have Friday the 22nd, Tuesday the 26th, and Saturday the 30th all scheduled for the game, with the game starting at 5:00 PM CST as perferred days. HOWEVER these are NOT guaranteed yet. pls list days and times here that are good for you if none of those times work and you would like to run through his heart. I want to arrange things for what will work for most people. I currently do not work that week, so I am open to change.

Some things to note:
- Characters CAN die or become corrupted in this heart
- CW: Possible themes of death, gore, terminal illness (???), Child abuse, and insects
- Once I have a day confirmed for sure I will change it to green. At that point, pls refrain from changing things.

(1) and (2) I think are the best options, with (1) being solid but a bit generalized and (2) having some especially accurate words—while also having "unforgiving" which is eh, and "distrustful" which is inaccurate.
So I guess I'll leave the final choice to you based on whichever better suits your vision/Levi's perception/etc.

Hello and fair warning, this is baby's first time running anything, so. I'm limiting myself to 3 players at a time because of that, have mercy on me and apologies in advance for any bumps. I'm thinking I'll run mostly on the weekends and add slots for weekday evenings after work, if there are specific days that are better for people. I'm PST and very bad at getting up in the mornings but if there's interest in a morning slot I can attempt one.

That said, Nero's heart will be a Challenge Tower and a Purification Heart. You will fight things along the way, but you do not need actual combat experience to get through it.

Possible cw for transformation, injury, dead bodies, you can potentially die or be turned into a monster.

Now for the mechanics. You can read them here, but basically, each character will have a pool of red and blue tokens, and you draw tokens to determine if you succeed or fail at actions. So, just let me know what your balance of red/blue will be.

So like, timezones are bad. For most of Imeeji, this means I can only run either early ass o'clock in the morning or a more reasonable evening/night time for you all, generally on weekends. Fortunately, a public holiday is happening here during heart game week, so I can run 22nd-23rd, and 27th-30th. While the early morning slots mostly meant for our European players here, I'm not sure if those are good times so if they don't work, hit me up and we'll see what we can work out.

For evening slots, I can run up to an hour earlier if that works better for people.

Capacity
I am a baby who has never run anything before, so I am taking up to 5 per session, though I can squeeze in an extra person for one or two groups if needed. You don't need prior or close CR to run around in his heart!

Also if things shake out that way, I can do solo or very small group runs. Timezones bad.

This heart is likely to be NPC-interaction heavy and fairly text heavy! I'm still working out if there will be combat or the possibility of death in this heart, so to be safe I will tentatively warn that there is a non-zero, if rather unlikely, chance of your character dying.

The following content warnings apply: themes of violence and death, gore, decapitation, mutilation, immolation, bullying, torture, loss of agency, feelings of alienation, in general just a lot of bad shit involving children. Possibly more pending as I finish writing! He's seen and been through some shit and you may get to relive his experiences, even if actual harm doesn't necessarily befall you. If there's anything that squicks you out let me know, so I can either come up with a workaround or at least keep it vague, depending on your comfort level.

Now that I have a decent amount of prewriting done, combat is unlikely unless y'all like, go out of the way to try and pick fights with NPCs I guess. There is still a non-zero chance your character might die, though it's pretty unlikely.

In general, physical harm won't necessarily befall your characters, but they may end up reliving his experiences, and he has many bad ones to relive.
