DANGERBEAR REMIX: THE LAST SUPPER RULES & SIGNUPS
Sign-ups are in the comments! The rules are outlined in this post.
Sign-ups & Set-up
♔ You must sign up in advance to play in The Last Supper. (This is the case so if unit numbers are uneven, we can pair units off to be roughly equal.) Comment to this post with your character's name under your unit's header.
♔ At the start of the game, each unit will ICly choose one character to be their Heart. The Heart is like the king piece in chess: once the Heart dies, your unit has lost. All other members are monsters.
♔ Because the Heart is ICly chosen, please only sign up if you are willing to play a monster.
♔ Please try to keep the identity of your unit's Heart secret OOC as well as IC.
Being a Monster
♔ Once the Heart is chosen, everyone except the Heart can now turn into a monster.
Gameplay:
DISCUSSION PHASE:
ATTACK PHASE:
Intermissions:
♔ In between rounds, you may leave the Game Tower. However, if you do, you must keep in mind the following:
♔ Characters engaged in combat between rounds may not leave the Game Tower, so you don't have to do any awkward retconning if you lose a fight you were dice-rolling combat in.
Winning, Losing, & Game End:
♔ If a unit loses their Heart, all surviving members of the unit will either partially or fully berserk, according to player preference.
♔ The game is over when either half the units playing have lost their Hearts or when all four rounds have passed.
♔ If half the units playing have lost, then the surviving half wins. If all four rounds have passed, only the units that have consumed another unit's Heart win.

Being a Monster
♔ Once the Heart is chosen, everyone except the Heart can now turn into a monster.
♔ Knowledge of how to transform is innate and can be done at will.
♔ Monster form is chosen OOCly; use any reference image or description you like. Monsters can look like pretty much whatever you want, as long as they're clearly inhuman (warped humanoid is fine) and not absurdly large. (A rough guideline would be "within 8ft x 8ft x 8ft dimensions," but this is not a hard rule. Justprobablydefinitely don't be skyscraper-sized.)
♔ You are insatiably hungry. This hunger can only be sated by the flesh of your fellow idols.
♔ Characters tend to turn into monsters by reflex when they are hunting or in danger. Being attacked will turn a character into a monster unless they're the Heart.
♔ If a Heart dies, or the unit that holds your character's unit's sanity hostage refuses to play, your character may either fully berserk or partially berserk.
♔ Characters who have fully berserked are trapped in their monster form and go on a rampage to kill anything and everything until something kills them.
♔ Characters who have partially berserked will still be able to switch between human and monster forms and will retain a portion of their sanity, but their hunger will increase to agonizing levels, and they will become more preoccupied with sating it by eating other idols than anything else. Partially-berserked characters will be pretty much themselves, but without any of their normal capacity for compassion or aversion to violence.

DISCUSSION PHASE:
♔ Discussion in each round has a two hour turn-in deadline.
♔ Each round you must choose a single person from an opposing unit, attempting to root out the Hearts. You also must choose who on your unit will be doing the attacking.
♔ If a unit is targeted by more than one other unit, they may redirect the attacks aimed their way as a defense, so they have the choice to never have more than one person from their unit attacked per night.♔ Example: Both avante en garde and sensitIV target WILD CITY on the first night. WILD CITY may, instead of taking the attack, "defend" so avante and sensitIV instead target each other. If a third unit attacks them, Wild City can choose whose attack they want to go through (though they will not be told which of their members is being targeted by which attacks beforehand) and which two units they would like to attack each other.
♔ Redirected attacks are as effective as the original attack: ie, if sensitIV originally got lucky and chose WILD CITY's Heart, the new attack will target avante en garde's Heart. If they did not target the Heart piece to begin with, they will also end up attacking a monster on the new unit.
♔ If your unit decides to not eat, another unit may be driven fully or partially berserk upon your refusal. You can view which unit's sanity is hinged on your decision in your unit's private room.♔ Whether or not refusal to eat triggers the "hostage" unit to berserk is chance-based, with the odds posted in private rooms every round.
ATTACK PHASE:
♔ Each character will only be in one fight per round. If the character your unit chooses to target is unavailable for that round, you will be redirected to attack a different member of that unit at random.
♔ You have the time from when the target is chosen to the next round to play out the fight. You may determine the outcome OOCly if the target on the other unit is not available, either by talking it out or rolling 1d6. A 1-4 means the attacking unit wins; a 5-6 means the defending did.♔ If you correctly select the Heart, the monster wins regardless of roll.
♔ When playing out the fight, you may also use this system to dice roll the combat. This is not required; feel free to determine the winner however you wish.
♔ Whatever method you use to decide the outcome, you must let the mods know the result of the fight before the start of the next round.
♔ Powers are off.
Intermissions:
♔ In between rounds, you may leave the Game Tower. However, if you do, you must keep in mind the following:
♔ You may not speak about the game to non-participating characters, which is to say that you are completely silenced if you try - no words come out of your mouth, you can't bring yourself to write it down or type it, it's physically impossible.
♔ Non-participating characters smell off-putting. Participating characters do not feel the urge to eat them; however, other participating characters will smell appetizing to them. Fully berserked and partially berserked characters will find no interest in non-participating characters; for them, looking at one is like looking at a rock. Part of the scenery, or at the very least inedible.
♔ This is so players who don't want to participate in The Last Supper don't have to awkwardly not play for a week; please don't try and side-step around these rules creatively guys, just assume it doesn't work. Don't be dicks to people opting out.
♔ Outside of their private unit rooms in the Game Tower, even when speaking to other game participants, characters will find that they are physically unable to discuss or coordinate strategy, your units' past or future decisions in the game, which member of a unit is the Heart, or indicate any personal willingness to be eaten. If you just wanna cry about how fucking terrified you are or anything then that's fair game!
♔ You may continue to play in the private unit posts during the intermission, and may discuss strategy et al in this area only.
