Some Game Info (PPP + Pokémon 2)

Hi guys! Gil here; I wanted to give you all some information about my upcoming games. This is not a complete info dump, as we're still over a month away and things could change, but I've gotten questions and I know people are also trying to plan out game attendance in the future, so I wanted to give you some deets that might alleviate any concerns (if you have any) and answer some questions and give you some heads up on things!!

PRETTY PRETTY PRINCESS RUNDOWN!: November 1st-3rd
Pretty Pretty Princess is a board-game in which characters collect items (accessories and make up) to try to become a Princess by the end of the game session. A session lasts 4 hours. You can see the rules from when I ran it last time here; I do not plan on these changing except perhaps for clarity. Although not explicitly trauma, sometimes wacky things happen and Astrael will not be preventing violence (but may choose to cast judgment thereafter), hence the Bring You Own Trauma label. There may be some minor status effect changes; I think I had a repeat somewhere.

The main difference from the first run and this rerun will be:
  1. the game will technically be hosted from the 1st to 3rd with different times for start/finish to better accommodate for different availabilities
  2. you will be allowed to play your characters at multiple tables/sessions (2 max most likely)
  3. you will be able to pick the groups of PCs with which you would like to play in signups.

Sign ups will be available at some point in October; please look forward to it.

POKEMON 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO!: November 27th-December 1st
The original Pokémon was a mingle game; although this game will have an extended mingle associated with it the mingle portion will be unscored fluff and is totally voluntary but will allow people to spend more time with their mons either in the designated game world or back in Tokyo-F for additional Poke-fun/bonding. The scored portion of this game will be round-based so that people who would like to play with Pokemon but not be at Imeeji-mingle-game-speeds for three+ days can live. The round-based, scored portion will last a total of 3-4 hours. Three to four teams will be having their scored portions run on any given day; the day your unit(s) will have yours will be determined by sign-up requests. I may also choose to create a slot or two for "outliers" who, due to time-zones or graveyard work, might be run together as a group regardless of unit affiliation. This will be determined on an as-needed and as-available basis, but I did grab some extra time for this just-in-case.

Those individuals who played last time will be reuniting with their Pokémon partners! They will be returning exactly as your characters left them in good mental and physical health to assist you with this game. For those of you with characters who did not participate in the first Pokémon game, congratulations! Your character will be assigned a Pokémon of your choosing at mingle start! OOCly, this is determined by you; ICly, this is performed by Astrael. There are, however, some conditions for picking:
  • All Pokémon must start in their lowest evolutionary forms
  • No legendaries
  • No mega-evolutions
  • Alola variations are acceptable
  • Only Pokémon available prior to Pokémon Sword/Shield are available to be fair & consistent with those available at assignment of game 1

At this time, I do not want to divulge too much information about the game's specific rules, set up, or goals, however, especially for those of you who might be mourning the lack of Sw/Sh mons thus far: successful participation in the round-based game will result in your character obtaining a second Pokémon; Sword & Shield mons will be accessible and evolutionary items will be available in quantities such that you can evolve both of your Pokémon if you have two that need it.

As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please feel free to ask me here.
